WISER Introduces New Features, Releases Latest Version of Tag and Track Software

Earlier this month, WISER Systems, Inc. released its largest software update ever with version 2.14 of Tag and Track.

RALEIGH, NC, May 21, 2020WISER Systems, a developer of innovative ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless location and tracking systems, has released a major new version of the Tag and Track software used in WISER’s Locator system, following several hardware and software developments in Q1 of 2020.

“These changes span nearly every piece of the WISER Locator, including significant enhancements to the interface, user experience upgrades, and work behind-the-curtain to make Tag and Track more useful and cross-functional,” said Dr. Elaine Rideout, WISER’s CEO. “We’re especially glad that our engineers were able to gather extensive feedback from our customers as they worked on this release, so we’re confident that we’re making our tools yet easier to use and more valuable for them.”

Many of the changes improve the user interface. Some upgrades are designed to shorten the time involved to implement and scale large installations. Other improvements include new tools for organizing tracking tag identities, upgrades to WISER’s hands-off health check, and numerous features for configuring access to location data.

Tag and Track V. 2.14 also includes many backend upgrades. It expands WISER’s abilities to manage large volumes of data, with new features to facilitate database integration and to access various data points outside the Tag and Track interface. Other developments enhance Tag and Track’s 3D positioning, which WISER debuted publicly last year.

“In 2019 we focused on expanding our engineering team, and it’s paying off,” said Rideout. “Just this year we’ve already introduced our new ruggedized tag and scaled several enterprise-level rollouts. Our team has worked very hard to make all of this happen, especially with this major software release following so quickly.”

WISER first launched Tag and Track in 2016. Since then, the company has introduced numerous software upgrades. Earlier this year, WISER gave its first public demonstration of a new geo-staking feature that pairs GPS data—latitude and longitude—with WISER’s own coordinate system. Last year WISER gave its first public demonstration of 3D tracking. Other new features post-launch included location history playback, user-customizable zones, and several features for immediately finding tag identities based on labels or groupings.

About WISER Systems, Inc.

WISER’s innovative Redundant Radio Localization and Tracking (RRLT) delivers scalable real-time positioning in nearly any environment. The system autonomously reports sub-meter to inch-level coordinates via a computer or mobile device and is accurate even in cluttered, metallic, or complex manufacturing environments where conventional tracking technologies perform poorly. The system is lightweight and portable and can be deployed in minutes, indoors or out. Although WISER’s Locator has only been on the market for a few years, 25% of end customers are Fortune 500 companies, including several large aerospace and defense contractors, multiple U.S. Government agencies, and a large Japanese automotive company, among many other organizations. WISER designs and manufactures its products in North America.
